The report reviews equity market performance during Samvat 2082 amid global uncertainty, elevated crude oil prices and sustained foreign investor selling

Surat (Gujarat) [India], November 5: Jainam, an end to end financial services company, has released its annual Diwali Muhurat Picks 2026 – Samvat 2083 research report, reviewing Indian equity market performance during Samvat 2082 and identifying five stocks for the year ahead.

India recorded real GDP growth of 7.8% in the April–June 2026 quarter, reflecting continued economic momentum. Over the Samvat 2082 period, equity market performance varied across market-cap segments, with the Nifty 50 declining 10.88% and the Sensex falling 11.81% between the Muhurat Trading session on October 21, 2025, and October 30, 2026. The Nifty Midcap 150 and Nifty Smallcap index declined 4.21% and 3.02%, respectively. The report examines these movements alongside evolving valuations, domestic investment activity and the global developments influencing Indian capital markets.

Despite these headwinds, India’s economic growth remained resilient, with real GDP growing 7.8% in Q1 FY27. The report also highlights continued domestic investor participation, with monthly SIP inflows reaching a record ₹32,490 crore in September 2026, even as FPI equity selling crossed ₹3 lakh crore during the year.
