Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav Launches Pulse Polio Campaign from Tribal Village Kukru Khamla in Betul

Betul (Madhya Pradesh), June 30: In a significant step towards strengthening child health and sustaining a polio-free Madhya Pradesh, the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Dr. Mohan Yadav, today inaugurated the Pulse Polio Immunization Campaign from the tribal village of Kukru Khamla in Betul district. The selection of this remote tribal village as the venue for the launch highlights the Government’s commitment to ensuring equitable healthcare services for every child, particularly those residing in tribal and hard-to-reach areas.

Addressing the gathering, the Hon’ble Chief Minister called upon parents, healthcare workers, and community leaders to ensure that every child below five years of age receives Oral Polio Vaccine (OPV) during the campaign. He emphasized that sustained community participation and strong public health systems are essential to keeping Madhya Pradesh and India polio-free.

During the programme, Dr. Pranjal Upadhyay, District Immunization Officer, Betul, had the honour of interacting with the Hon’ble Chief Minister regarding the health status of tribal communities and ongoing initiatives to improve immunization coverage and healthcare accessibility in remote tribal regions of Betul district.

On the occasion, Dr. Upadhyay also presented his authored book, “Literature of Tribal Health,” to the Hon’ble Chief Minister. The book highlights the unique health challenges, socio-cultural determinants, and innovative public health approaches for improving healthcare among tribal populations.
