Bhubaneswar (Odisha) [India], June 19: Vedanta Aluminium, India’s largest aluminium producer, organized summer camps across 12 government schools in the Jamkhani and Ghogharpalli regions of Odisha, benefiting over 600 students through a blend of educational, awareness, and recreational activities during the summer vacation period.

Designed to promote holistic development among children, the camps included sessions on arts and crafts, storytelling, quizzes and brain games, as well as interactive modules on Earth sciences, career counseling, and sports. Students also participated in a tree plantation drive, planting over 500 saplings, integrating environmental awareness with experiential learning beyond the classroom.

The program was attended by Mr. Karuna Sagar PatelBlock Education Officer (BEO), Hemgir, along with School Management Committee members and teachers from participating schools. The summer camps also celebrated the spirit of employee volunteering, with 26 employee volunteers contributing 145 man-hours, equivalent to 46 man-days, towards organizing and conducting activities for students. Their active participation helped create meaningful learning experiences while strengthening community engagement.

Appreciating the initiative, Mr. Karuna Sagar Patel, Block Education Officer (BEO), Hemgir, stated, “I am delighted to see a range of engaging and joyful learning activities being organized for students.
