International Day of Yoga Celebrated Enthusiastically at Gujarat Science City on the Theme “Yoga for Healthy Ageing”

Ahmedabad (Gujarat) [India], June 22: Gujarat Science City today celebrated the International Day of Yoga with great enthusiasm. The event, based on the theme “Yoga for Healthy Ageing,” was organized at 6:30 AM at the Nature Park of Gujarat Science City, where a large number of yoga enthusiasts and citizens participated wholeheartedly.
The program was graced by the presence of Ms. P. Bharathi, IAS, Secretary, Department of Science and Technology, who emphasized the importance of yoga in promoting a healthy and balanced lifestyle. Addressing the gathering, Ms. Bharathi said, “This year’s theme, ‘Yoga for Healthy Ageing,’ is highly relevant in today’s world. Yoga is one of the most effective ways to maintain physical fitness, mental well-being, and emotional balance for a long and healthy life. Yoga is not merely a form of exercise but a way of life that establishes harmony between the body, mind, and soul.”
She further stated that India has gifted the invaluable tradition of yoga to the world, and today yoga is widely accepted globally as an effective practice for health and well-being. She also appreciated the various initiatives undertaken by the Gujarat State Yoga Board and the Government of Gujarat to create awareness about yoga across the state. She encouraged everyone present to adopt yoga as an integral part of their daily lives.
On this occasion, Mr. Charansinh Gohil, Executive Director, Gujarat Science City, stated, “Yoga is not just a physical exercise but a pathway to a healthy, active, and balanced life. Gujarat Science City remains committed to inspiring society through programs that promote science, health, wellness, and public awareness.”
